What a beautiful lady you’re becoming,” she patted the bench next to her. “Sit and we’ll talk. I have much to tell you about life and about you. A Thing has changed in the World and I have two special gifts for you—that may lead to an even greater one,” she beamed at her granddaughter.
And I’ll add that in the first three words of the title of this post… there is good advice for life (not just as a writer but as a human being). Don’t be afraid to attempt things. Don’t worry about failure… that’s only permanent if you stop trying. Often the very best results come from repeated attempts… learning how to do things write or learning the right way (person) to be. Everything in life is a work in progress. Never forget that and keep working on whatever it is that’s important to you.
A message we all should heed… about regrets.
As a young man I was fragmented… all shards with sharp edges and parts that did not seem likely to ever fit together. And then I met the young woman who became my wife…
No artifice… no facade covering a shaky foundation… no pretension… an honest assessment of self and solid core belief system. Clear sighted things we should all have or strive for.
